Major boards, including CBSE, CISCE, IB, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, and OxfordAQA, have chosen to cancel in-person exams and move to alternative grading methods, leaving students distressed and unclear on their pathway to higher education.
Curtin University Dubai has taken a proactive and student-centred approach in response to these disruptions to accommodate affected students. This addresses the ongoing regional disruptions across the GCC, which have impacted secondary school examination schedules and pathways to higher education.
“Guided by our values of respect and impact, Curtin University has introduced alternative admissions pathways to support students affected by regional disruptions, ensuring continued access to education and that no student is left behind,” – Statement from Professor Ammar Kaka, Pro Vice-Chancellor and President of Curtin University Dubai.
Curtin Dubai is working closely with local schools, counsellors, and applicants to provide clear guidance, personalised admissions support, and timely decision-making to minimise uncertainty and uphold academic continuity.
Curtin University Dubai will host a dedicated information session during its virtual open day on 11 April 2026. This session will cover navigating admissions, an interim overview of online and hybrid learning, and how to access available bursaries for students who are in need of financial support.
