Marriott International has introduced its highly acclaimed Voyage program at the Curtin Dubai campus in Dubai international Academic City, opening exciting opportunities for fresh graduates across multiple disciplines. The visit by the Marriott Group to Curtin Dubai’s campus marks the beginning of a collaboration that aims to bridge the gap between academia and the hospitality industry, while fostering career growth and professional development for the next generation.
The program is a comprehensive recruitment initiative, and offers recent graduates the chance to embark on a transformative journey of training, development, and on-the-job experience within the Marriott Group of hotels in the UAE. Over the course of 12-18 months, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various departments, honing their skills and preparing themselves for future potential supervisory roles within the renowned hotel chain; the world’s largest.
“What makes this collaboration truly remarkable is that the program welcomes graduates from all disciplines offered at Curtin Dubai, including IT, Engineering, Business, Media, and the specialised Tourism and Hospitality Essentials program,” commented Professor John Evans, Pro Vice Chancellor and President – Curtin Dubai.
By embracing multi-disciplinary graduates, the Marriott Group recognises the value of a diverse workforce and the ability to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the table. The program offers participants a chance to apply their specialised knowledge in real-world scenarios, enhancing their understanding of the industry and building a strong foundation for their professional careers.
Shweta Wahi, Director – People & Culture and Careers at Curtin Dubai commented: “It doesn’t just end with the Voyage Program. The Marriott Group has gone above and beyond and will be providing our students the opportunity to visit its hotels across the country. These tours will enable students to gain valuable insights into the operations of the hotel industry, observe best practices firsthand, and develop a deep understanding of the industry’s inner workings. In addition, they have also committed to having their Engineers visit Curtin Dubai’s Engineering Pavilion to inspire the university’s budding engineers.”
“Such initiatives stand as testament to the commitment of the Marriott Group to nurturing talent and providing graduates with a launch pad for successful careers. This strategic partnership leverages the strengths of both institutions, blending academic excellence with world-leading industry expertise to create a holistic and immersive learning experience,” commented Professor Evans.
