Why Dubai and Curtin University Dubai?

​I chose Dubai for its energy and ambition. Studying at Curtin University Dubai gives me an Australian degree, a fast-track pathway, and the chance to learn in a city where business moves fast.​

Life at Curtin Dubai

​When I’m not in class, you’ll usually find me at football ground – training! Being part of the Curtin Dubai football club is one of my favourite parts of student life. Training with the team keeps me active, motivated, and connected on campus.​

Looking ahead

​I want to step into business consulting or a related field, making smart decisions, and building a career that keeps moving forward. Alongside my studies, I am part of the Future Students’ Centre, where I engage with prospective students and gain first-hand exposure to how the university supports student journeys. It has helped me grow professionally and build confidence early.​

Beyond the classroom

I’m either boxing, checking out cars, or gaming. In 2024, I competed in inter-university boxing competitions and became the first official boxer to represent Curtin University. Whether it’s sport or study, I like staying competitive and pushing myself to do better.

Why Dubai and Curtin University Dubai?

Dubai has always been home for me, so studying here felt natural. I wanted to learn in a city where I plan to build my creative career. Curtin Dubai stood out for its strong global ranking, industry-aligned curriculum, and hands-on approach to learning. I’m also interning at the University as a graphic designer, which allows me to apply what I learn to real projects and gain practical industry experience while I study.

​After graduating, I aim to work in branding and visual identity, creating designs that are meaningful and effective. I’m also focused on growing my freelance design portfolio and collaborating with brands and clients across industries. ​

Beyond the classroom

​Outside university, I enjoy watercolour painting, photography, and spending time in nature. I draw creative inspiration from small details, as well as anime and manga, which often influence my design style.

I started my degree at Curtin Mauritius, but I knew I wanted to challenge myself more. Transferring to Curtin Dubai gave me access to a globally connected city, vibrant student life, and stronger industry opportunities. Dubai’s tech scene is growing fast, and being here allows me to network, learn, and grow in ways I never imagined.

Future Goals

Future Goals

I aspire to become a Clinical Psychologist and open my own clinic to support those in need of psychological assistance. I also aim to make my services accessible to those who need them most, including marginalised communities. Interests I enjoy playing online games, but I spend much of my time singing and playing the ukulele. I also love writing poetry and composing my own songs.

New Pathways

As for my future, since I’m currently in the Foundation program, I’m still exploring my interests within the field of business. Being in Dubai, an international city with so many opportunities, gives me the perfect environment to discover which areas I’m most passionate about. I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to finding a path that I genuinely enjoy and can grow in. Interests Outside of university, I enjoy indoor activities. I like going to the gym or just relaxing at home and playing games.

I’m an aspiring forensic accountant with the goal of becoming certified in the field! Interests Fashion and beauty have always been my passion, and I love vlogging to share my journey. Sport has always been my go-to stress reliever. I absolutely love playing golf because it’s both challenging and peaceful. I also enjoy social tennis for the fun and energy it brings. Basketball has been a huge part of my life. It’s more than just a sport; it’s my escape and self-expression. Representing Seychelles at the Indian Ocean Games 2023 in Madagascar was a defining moment in my journey.

After completing my BCom, I plan to pursue an MBA to expand my knowledge in business strategy, leadership, and management. My long-term dream is to build and lead my own company, one that reflects my passions and values.

Beyond the Classroom

As Vice President of Sports on the Student Council, I get to bring my love for sports into student life every day. From basketball and equestrianism to golf and tennis, sports have always been my outlet for growth and motivation. I’m also a certified scuba diver and passionate about animal welfare and marine conservation, finding balance and purpose both in and out of the water.

I chose Curtin Dubai for two main reasons. Firstly, it offers a multicultural learning environment that fosters international exposure and creates opportunities to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, preparing me for a global career. Secondly, I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere on campus. The kindness and hospitality of the students and staff are truly appreciated.

Future Goals

After I graduate, I plan to pursue a Master’s in Business Law. With the knowledge I’ve gained from my major at Curtin, I hope to one day open my own business – whatever that may be!

Outside of university, one of my favourite hobbies is baking. I find it relaxing and enjoy experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Why Curtin University Dubai?
There was a version of me that never walked onto a stage, never stood in front of a camera, and never believed she could carve out a space for herself. Curtin Dubai helped me leave that version behind.

I came in with ambition and energy. What Curtin gave me was a platform where those could grow into something real. It was not just about opportunities. It was about being trusted with them, supported through them, and challenged to make something meaningful out of them.

Future goals
I want to build a career that sits at the intersection of business, media, and hospitality. Whether it is through corporate leadership or creative industries like sports media, my goal is to create impact, lead with confidence, and continue building something of my own.

Curtin taught me to take up space, to trust my voice, and to pursue paths that do not always exist yet. That is exactly what I plan to keep doing.

Beyond the classroom
Starting the Curtin Dubai Theatre Club and serving as VP of Events on the Student Council taught me how to lead, adapt, and deliver under pressure.

These experiences shaped the skills I now use in my role at Hilton, an opportunity that began through a Curtin-organised industry visit.

Beyond this, I continue to explore sports media through presenting and hosting, building something of my own with the confidence Curtin helped me develop.
