This course will provide you with key technological skills and knowledge, as well as an understanding of the issues and debates that concern media, communication and information in the world today.

The course will introduce you to the different areas that make up mass communication in your first year. In your second and third year, the subjects will introduce you to the two streams you will specialise in, Web Media and Marketing.

The Web Media stream provides a pathway to a career in the expanding field of web-based media and communications, from website creation to online community management. The stream emphasises social media and networking, and units involve practical components and core concepts, giving you the necessary understanding and skills you need in the socially productive and culturally rich online environment.

The Marketing stream introduces you to the key skills and knowledge needed for successful marketing. You will gain an understanding of marketing principles, consumer behaviour, international and internet marketing.

Course Duration

The Bachelor of Communications is a 3 year program when taken in a standard semester model as a full time student and 6 years when taken part-time on the semester model.
