Curtin Dubai hosted over 200 hundred students and parents for the semi-finals of the Spelling Bee 2018 – 2019. The participants ranging from ages 11 to 15 years old attended both written and oral rounds and displayed a great talent at spelling complex words.
The Spelling Bee Championship, Dubai event organiser Ms Sunanda Lal, Managing Director, Thinkline Marketing Consultancy praised Curtin Dubai for its commitment to the initiative and said, “We are very thankful to our Co-Sponsor Curtin University Dubai for the constant support that they have given to The Spelling Bee Championship UAE since 2017. Curtin University Dubai is the venue for the Open Enrolment Preliminary Rounds as well as the Semi-Final Rounds. Their professionalism, hospitality and tremendous support have been large factors in the success of the Championship. Students and parents alike have been extremely appreciative of Curtin University Dubai’s facilities that have been able to comfortably accommodate hundreds of spellers and their parents. The top 60 scorers from the semi-finals will now compete in the UAE Finals on 9 February at Motion Gate Dubai. Dr Jillian Pandor, Academic Director of Curtin University Dubai will be an official pronouncer for the finals.
