Curtin University Dubai students demonstrated high levels of creativity and excellence at this year’s Inter-University Cultural Fest organised by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Dubai Campus. Competing against talented participants from multiple institutions, the student cohort showcased a vibrant mix of performances across poetry, music, and dance, highlighting the university’s commitment to holistic development and community spirit.
The university achieved its highest honour in the literary category, where a Curtin Dubai student secured First Place for her poem titled ‘Unseen and Unheard.’ The poignant piece addressed the critical social issue of child marriage, shining a light on the impact of victims’ experiences.
Reflecting on the achievement, Mantasha Fatima noted, “I am humbled to have won first place at the competition. I am grateful to my university for their constant support.” This success serves as a reminder of the transformative power of student advocacy through the creative arts.

In the music category, the Curtin Dubai band delivered an electrifying performance that resonated with both energy and technical skill. The group secured second place, demonstrating the impact of collective action and teamwork.
Sharing his thoughts on the experience, band member Nathan Isaac said, “Honestly, it was fun whether we won or not. I wasn’t really focused on winning, so when we heard we got second place, it was a pleasant added reward.”
The momentum continued with a vibrant performance by the university’s dance team. The group represented the institution with distinction, exhibiting discipline and grace on the competitive floor. Participant Wriai Mapula noted that the event uncovered valuable opportunities to interact with students from across the region while showcasing unique talents.
These achievements embody the spirit of courage and excellence that defines Curtin. By translating their passion into confident performances, these students are developing the skills required to build their professional future and make tomorrow better.
