Curtin University Dubai has celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025 at a graduation ceremony held at The Westin Dubai – Mina Seyahi, recognising students from across the Schools of Business and Humanities, Psychology, and Science, Engineering and Information Technology.

The ceremony was attended by graduates and their families, Curtin Dubai faculty and staff, and Heads and Principals from partner schools. Their participation reflected the broader educational community supporting students through their academic journeys.

In his opening address, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Academic President Professor Ammar Kaka acknowledged the milestone for graduates and emphasised Curtin’s commitment to supporting students in developing the knowledge, capability and values required for future success. Drawing on the words of former Australian Prime Minister John Curtin, Professor Kaka highlighted the importance of purpose, service, and leadership in contributing to society.

The ceremony included a pre-event gathering for recipients of the Vice-Chancellor’s List, recognising the top one per cent of high-achieving students. The event brought together academic leaders from Curtin Perth and Curtin Dubai and provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their academic pathways and future ambitions. The session demonstrated the strength of Curtin’s global academic network and its focus on fostering excellence across campuses.

Graduates from undergraduate and postgraduate programs were then conferred their awards in a formal procession. The cohort represented a broad range of disciplines and reflected the University’s emphasis on industry-relevant learning, research-informed teaching, and graduate employability.

Curtin Dubai also presented its annual student excellence awards, recognising outstanding leadership, innovation, and community contribution.

  • SP Wahi Award for Excellence – Rifa Anwar
  • Zafar Siddiqi Innovation and Enterprise Award – Maryam Sahar Khan
  • Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence – Danielle Loise Ronquillo

Undergraduate Valedictorian Christian Dominic Lee, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), addressed the ceremony, acknowledging the support of staff, peers and family and reflecting on the role of resilience, consistency, and disciplined effort in academic success.

Acting Chancellor Professor Xiaotian Zhang delivered the Charge to Graduates, encouraging them to uphold Curtin’s values of integrity, respect, excellence, courage, and impact as they transition into the next stage of their professional and personal journeys.

Following the formal proceedings, members of the wider Curtin community attended the Alumni Sundowner, which provided an opportunity for graduates to engage with the University’s alumni network and strengthen professional connections.

Curtin University Dubai congratulates the Class of 2025 and acknowledges their achievements, contributions, and commitment to learning.
