Architecture and Interior Design Bootcamp

Curious about how spaces shape human experience? The Architecture & Interior Design Bootcamp is where spatial thinking meets technical precision.

This immersive six-day camp takes you beyond the surface, introducing advanced concepts in structural integrity, sustainable urbanism, and biophilic design.

Through hands-on workshops and masterclasses led by academic and industry experts, you will engage with industry-standard tools to solve real-world design challenges.

By the end of the week, you will have produced foundational project work for your design portfolio and practised pitching your design concepts to a panel of peers and faculty.

Guidelines

How to register

Registrations are open now! Limited seats available.
Note:
• Keep your Passport & EID copy handy when completing the registration.
• An NOC from the parent/legal guardian is also requested in the form.
• You will be able to access the NOC form at the time of registration.

Fees

This is a complimentary camp.

Program Rules

  • Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to limited capacity, students will be shortlisted from the total pool of submissions.
  • This program is designed for students in Grades 11 and 12 or the equivalent. The curriculum introduces advanced concepts that may be unsuitable for younger year groups.
  • Shortlisted students are required to attend the full duration of the camp. Attendance is tracked daily, and students failing to attend Day 1 will not be permitted to join subsequent sessions.
  • A Certificate of Participation will be issued only to students who complete all scheduled days of the camp.
  • Students are required to bring their own laptops for the practical sessions.
  • The University reserves the right to discontinue a student’s participation in the event of non-compliance with program guidelines.

  1. Day1: The Foundation of Spatial Thinking

    6 July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Theory: Introduction to spatial relationships, human scale, and the psychology of interiors.

    Followed by a hands-on activity

  2. Day 2: Structural Integrity & Form

    7  July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Theory: Advanced concepts in structural engineering for architects – how buildings stand up and the evolution of materials.

    Followed by a hands-on activity – Bridge or Tower Load Challenge, using spaghetti and marshmallows.

  3. Day 3: Sustainable Urbanism & Design

    8 July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Theory: Designing for the UAE climate. Exploring passive cooling, renewable energy integration, and bringing nature indoors.

  4. Day 4: Interior Storytelling: Mood & Materiality

    9 July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Theory: The art of “Specifying.” How textures, lighting, and acoustics change the perception of a room.

    Hands-on activity: Using a selection of recycled items such as fabrics, popsicle sticks, and samples, students curate a mood board for a boutique “Eco-Hotel” lobby in Dubai.

  5. Day 5: Digital Innovation in Arch & ID

    10 July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Theory: Introduction to industry-standard tools (BIM, CAD, or VR) and how technology is disrupting traditional drafting.

  6. Day 6: The Final “Masterclass” Challenge

    11 July 2026 10am – 2pm

    Task: Students will combine the week’s lessons to redesign a public space in Dubai (e.g., a community park or library).

    Presentation: A short “Pitch” to faculty and industry experts, focusing on the why behind their design decisions.

    Closing: Portfolio review.
