What Our Students Say

Melvin Jeyakumar
Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering

I chose Curtin University as my father is an alumnus of Curtin University Perth. Growing up I was inspired by hearing stories of the memories my dad had as a student at Curtin. When it was time for me to decide about my university education, there was no second thought of any other institution but Curtin. I was further inspired knowing that Curtin University is a global university with a strong connection with industry, preparing job-ready graduates. Curtin is ranked high globally and is a university of choice for the many international students who attend their many campuses.

When I completed my engineering foundation year, I saw an opportunity to transfer to Curtin Perth and continue with my engineering degree. The transition was seamless with little effort from me as a student. The student services at Curtin Dubai guided me with all the requirements for the transfer and liaised with Curtin Perth Student Services, to get my enrolment and other formalities in a quick time frame. On my part, I communicated with Curtin Dubai staff and provided all the necessary documents and information that they required. Before I departed from Dubai, I was lucky enough to meet some of the Curtin Perth staff who visited the Dubai campus. I received useful information to make my pre-departure effortless.
