POSITION SUMMARY
This key leadership role is entrusted with overseeing Curtin University Dubai’s quality assurance and compliance frameworks, ensuring full alignment with both UAE Federal and Emirate of Dubai regulatory standards. You will be responsible for upholding compliance with the requirements of the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), while managing the systematic collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data to support these requirements. Beyond regulatory compliance, the role plays a strategic part in fostering a culture of continuous quality enhancement across all academic and operational functions of the university campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership and direction for Curtin University Dubai’s quality assurance, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the campus operates in full alignment with Curtin University’s global quality standards, while meeting all regulatory requirements set by the UAE’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

Key Responsibilities
• Implement, and maintain robust local quality assurance and regulatory compliance frameworks that align with Curtin University’s institutional standards and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Lead and coordinate accreditation, re-licensing, and audit activities—both internal and external—including on-site evaluations by regulatory bodies.
• Oversee the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of institutional data to support regulatory submissions, performance monitoring, and ongoing quality enhancement initiatives.
• Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders—including academic and professional services teams—as well as external regulators and partners.
• Drive the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance, data integrity, academic excellence, and student-focused outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to senior leadership, boards, and committees on compliance status, risk management, quality indicators, and improvement strategies.

RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports to Pro Vice-Chancellor and President of Curtin University Dubai Campus; and Director of Global Governance and Compliance (Perth Campus)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 
• Demonstrated substantial experience in quality assurance, compliance, and accreditation within higher education (preferably in an international/transnational context). 
• Data analysis skills, experience managing institutional metrics, dashboards, and reporting. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with regulators, academic faculty, and administrative staff. 
• Ability to lead projects, manage complex workloads, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively. 

Desirable
• Strong understanding of the UAE higher education regulatory environment (CAA/KHDA) and international accreditation standards. 
• Postgraduate degree (Master’s, PhD) in a relevant discipline.
• Prior experience working in an international campus environment.

LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This position is a full-time on-campus role.
• The role may entail travel to offsite locations for university engagements such as conferences, meetings, outreach, and partnerships.
• Flexibility for remote work based on approved workload.
