Adjunct Lecturer – Business Information Systems

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Adjunct Lecturer will deliver Business Information Systems (BIS) units within undergraduate programs at Curtin Dubai. The role includes teaching, tutorials, assessment marking, student support, and collaboration with Perth-based Unit Coordinators to ensure high-quality and consistent unit delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Deliver tutorials, workshops, seminars, and practical sessions for BIS units.
Contextualise and deliver curriculum materials aligned with Curtin Perth standards.
Grade assessments, exams, quizzes, and projects in accordance with academic requirements.
Provide timely feedback and hold student consultation hours.
Use diverse and engaging teaching approaches, integrating BIS case studies and industry tools.
Collaborate with Unit Coordinators and the Head of School on teaching quality and curriculum alignment.

CRITERIA
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Information Systems, Business Information Systems, IT, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
At least 5 years of higher education teaching experience.
Active research outputs aligned with AACSB expectations (recent publications preferred).
Demonstrated ability to teach diverse cohorts effectively.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
Experience integrating real-world BIS applications into teaching.
Knowledge,Experience and Skills
• A high level of written and oral communication skills and computer literacy
• Demonstrated high quality experience in teaching
• Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with student in a variety of learning contexts
• Experience of working with a diverse range of students
• A solid track record in academic publishing in ranked/indexed journals within the prior five years
Desirable
• Relevant industry experience
