Calling all aspiring programmers across the UAE! 

Do you speak code?

Be part of the biggest social coding competition for high school and university students in the UAE. Winners will receive attractive prizes, trophies, prestigious scholarships, medals, and certificates!

How to participate?

All you have to do is click on the registration link below, fill in your details, and ensure you read the instructions below. 

The deadline for registration: Saturday 29 April 2023. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Participants will go through three rounds to test their knowledge, problem-solving and coding skills.

Round 1:

Participants will complete a written test in 45 minutes.

Round 2 Semi-Finals:

The top 30 from Round 1 will proceed to use their own laptops to solve a case using coding. This will be an open book round and will last 1.5 hours.

Round 3:

The top 10 from Round 2 will proceed to use their own laptops to solve a final case using coding. This will be an open book round and will last 2.5 hours.

 

GUIDELINES

What you need to know
1) The Hackathon is open to students across the UAE.
High school students: Grade 9 and above
University students: All years
2) This competition is attempted individually and will be held at Curtin Dubai’s campus in DIAC.
3) Each school and university can register up to 15 students.
4) Registration deadline is 29 April 2023.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation, and teachers will be recognised for their mentorship.
All winners will receive attractive prizes, medals, trophies, certificates, and prestigious scholarships.

Any programming language of your choice (Python, Java, C, C++, etc.)

What type of questions would be asked during the written round of the competition?

General IT-based and Coding

What type of questions would be asked during the semi-finals round of the competition?

Semi-Final would be a set of tasks to be solved programmatically.

What type of questions would be asked during the finals round of the competition?

A small programming task would be given that would need to be solved.

Do you mind giving me some tips & tricks for my success in the competition?

Brush up on IT general knowledge and your coding skills.

Would like to know what coding language will be used in the competition?

As mentioned above any programming language of your choice.

What is the written test and the problem solving going to be based on - Like what type of questions are going to be asked in the written test - Is it general knowledge of computers, or about some programming language, and the problem solving using coding will be done using which programming language?

It would be a mix of all.

Is the Hackathon competition designed for individual participation or in teams?

The Hackathon is designed for individual participation.

Will Wi-Fi be provided at the competition venue?

Yes, Wi-Fi will be provided.
