Current Students - FAQs

I'm thinking of taking a semester off while till we're back in the classroom. Will this affect me in any way?

Skipping trimesters will affect your course progression, as units are mapped out a year in advance and may not be offered in the following trimester. Some may serve as prerequisites for future units. Therefore, it is advisable that all students continue with their university coursework as normal.

I'm unable to pay my fees due to financial hardships. Is there any way I can get some assistance?

All Curtin campuses have come up with a number of initiatives to assist students who have directly been impacted by COVID-19. This includes bursaries, flexible payment plans, and opportunities to apply for further scholarships based on academic merit. Contact finance@curtindubai.ac.ae for more information.

I'm struggling with my internet connectivity which is impacting my ability to participate in our interactive classrooms. What can I do to fix this?

As mentioned on the KHDA website, Du, Etisalat and Virgin Mobile are providing free data for prepaid and postpaid customers for selected video conferencing tools (Blackboard, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) or to access and download content from school websites.
